I am a Tribal member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe, I have been married to my wife Myra (Truax) Brooks for 23 years. We have two sons, Jordan and Luke, one grandson Jonah, one step-daughter Aniya, and many God-daughters and one God son.

Before coming to East Fork, I worked for the White Mountain Apache Tribe as the Director of Tribal Forestry.  I really enjoyed the work for the Tribe and doing everything I could for the Tribe's forest resources.  I worked for the Tribe for 13 years, taking a break from 2015-2021.

During my break from the Tribe, I was a teacher for Quality Schools International in Atyrau, Kazakhstan.  The city we lived in was partly in Europe and partly in Asia and it was one of the best experiences of my life.  While at QSI Atyrau I taught middle school and high school math and science subjects, as well as coaching Track, Cross Country, Basketball, and Volleyball.   While we lived overseas, we were blessed with the ability to travel across the globe.  After returning home to Whiteriver, I taught here at East Fork for 3 years as the 7th Grade Teacher.  I also coached Cross Country, Basketball, and Track.

In my free time I also coach Little League Baseball, I referee for a bunch of youth sporting events, I play basketball, baseball, golf and I enjoy running and snowboarding.  I also love being outdoors kayaking, fishing, hunting, and making firewood.  If I have time, I like to rock climb and jump off cliffs into water.  I have a very adventurous spirit and I am thankful for everything God has allowed me to do in my life.

I graduated High School from Blue Ridge High School in 1997.I attended Arizona State University and graduated in 2002 with a B.S. degree in Environmental Resources with emphases in Wildlife Management and Restoration Ecology. I also attended Northern Arizona University for my Master's in Forestry from 2003-2005.  I was on the brink of graduating but due to a near-death experience, my focus in life changed and I made the difficult decision to withdraw from school.

Everything in my life has happened by the will and grace of God and I am extremely fortunate to be here at East Fork Lutheran School. I thank the Lord every day for the life and experiences he has given me and I am truly blessed to be a part of the school here at EFLS.
